Kirol Parish was established at Fatima Church, Vidyavihar (west) in the year 1993. Right from the inception, Kirol had a dynamic and vibrant community initiated with two hundred families. As this community, grew in “Wisdom and Age” and made inroads into the lives of all Malayalee Catholics living in this vast area (i.e. Mumbai). The effects of community in the lives of its members were so immense that it inspired us to participate in social gathering and also to attend the regular Sunday Mass as well as the religious sacraments performed in Malayalam.
It’s a matter of pride for us to state that this community had played a significant role in the formation of Syro Malabar Parish in the year 1993 under the leadership of Rev. Fr. George Vadakkethala. Since then, We have regular Malayalam Qurbana conducting at Fatima Church, Kirol. The following Parish Priests have offered their Services and guided us through the spiritual life: Rev. Fr. Xavier Kadaplakyal, Rev. Fr. Cyriac Chandrankunnel, Rev. Fr Kuriakose, Rev. Fr. Jacob Palakkyappilly, Rev. Fr. Benny Thanninilkumthadathil, Rev. Fr. Babu Kakkassery, Rev. Fr.Tomy Nellyani, Rev. Fr. Franklin Pottanannikkal, Rev. Fr. Mathew Kollamparambil, Rev. Fr.Benny Thonikkuzhi, Rev, Fr. Sibi Kulangara, Rev. Fr. Thomas Vazhayil. Rev. Fr. Jeffrin Pallithara is our current Parish Priest. Kirol Parish is now known as “Fatima Matha Centre Kirol”. With gratitude we remember, Mr. V.C. Jacob and Mr. M.K. Jose, the former trustees of our parish who left us for their heavenly abode. Pithruvedi, Mathrusangam and Youth are very active in this small Parish.
