In 1970, under the leadership of KCU, a Qurbana Centre was formed at Andheri to take care of the spiritual needs of the Syro-Malabar migrants in and around Versova, Yari Road, Mugrapada, Lallubhai Park, Vile Parle and Juhu. Rev. Fr. Gilbert OFM was appointed to offer Qurbana on every first Sunday of the month and on all other main celebrations like Christmas, Easter, Good Friday etc. From 1980 onwards St. Sebastian’s Feast was celebrated at the centre. After the establishment of the Diocese of Kalyan, the Andheri centre was divided into two parishes for the convenience of the people i.e. St Mary’s Parish at Juhu Versova covering Andheri Sports Complex, Lokhandvala, Versova, Yari Road, Juhu, D.N Nagar and St. Sebastian Parish at Amboli covering Veera Desai Road, Oshiwara, Lallubhai Park, Mugrapada and Irla.
