In 1967 the Malayalee Catholics of Dehu Road got united under the banner of Kerala Catholic Association with the aim of arranging Holy Qurbana in Malayalam at least once in a month. Accordingly priests from various religious institutions like Papal Seminary, SVD, Carmel House, Bethany Ashram etc. Were arranged to celebrate Holy Qurbana in Malayalam on Sundays at St. Jude’s Church Dehu Road. After a lot of representations to Bishop of Pune, in 1984 Fr. Peter Kavupuram MST was appointed as Priest in charge of Dehu Road and started regular Sunday Qurbana in Syro Malabar rite. He also started Catechism Classes for children. With the establishment of Kalyan Diocese in 1988, Dehu Road Centre became one of the parishes of the Diocese in a full-fledged manner.
Fr. Jose Kalarickal MST, who took over the charge in 1989, organised the youth of the Parish to begin Dehu Road unit of Kalyan Eparchy Youth Movement. With the ambition of having our own Church we have purchased a plot in Mamurdi in 1991, but due to legal complications could not build a Church there. Fr. Xavier Kadaplackal took charge in 1993 and in 1995 Fr. John Kizhakkarakattu became the Parish Priest. The Parish was named St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
In 1997 Fr. Jose Valiamangalam MST took over the charge of the Parish. During this time we could purchase a plot at Kiwal. Fr. Joy Chitteth MST who took charge in 1998 took a keen interest in building the Church. As a result foundation stone was laid on 6th Feb 2001. And the church was consecrated on 12th December 2002 by Mar. Thomas Elavanal.
Parish Priests who worked in the parish are Rev. Fr. Peter Kavumpuram MST, Rev. Fr. Jose Kalarickal MST, Rev. Fr. Xavier Kadapalakal MST, Rev. Fr. John Kizhakkarakattu MST, Rev. Fr. Jose Valiyamangalam MST, Rev. Fr. Joy Chitteth MST, Rev. Fr. Martin Kombara and Rev. Fr. Shaju Kottarathil, Rev. Fr. Anoop Poyyaniyil. At present Rev. Fr. Joseph Chaliserry is the Parish Priest.
