The beginning of this parish community can be traced back to 1985. Under the leadership of CMI Priest the community was spiritually nourished. In 1988 Kalyan Diocese was erected and the first committee was elected on 16th October, 1988 in the tenure of Rev. Fr. Raphael Moyalan CMI. Rev. Fr. Davis Casian CMI, took charge as priest incharge on 3rd March, 1989. Our centre gave a befitting reception to our first Bishop Mar Paul Chittilappilly on 11th March, 1989. With the blessing of Adoration Convent in Usha Nagar on 10th June, 1989, our dream of daily Mass, weekly Adoration and regular catechism etc. became a reality.
On 1st August, 1990, Fr. Mathew Moothasseril took charge of the centre. Our centre parish was christened as “Christ the King Parish” on 23rd August, 1992 and thereafter celebrated the feast of “Christ the King” every year. We are fortunate to purchase two flats in the ‘A’ building of Usha Nagar which was blessed on 12.10 1995 by the Bishop of Kalyan Mar Paul Chittilappilly, Rev. Fr. Thomas Pudussery took charge as Parish Priest on 12th March, 1995. We welcomed our new Bishop Mar Thomas Elavanal in a befitting manner on 20th April, 1997. Rev. Fr. Mathew Kandassamkunnel was our Parish Priest from 04th July, 1997 to 03rd February, 1999. Rev. Fr. Joju Aloor, took charge on 03rd February 1999. During his tenure we purchased a plot for our parish (Santhome Welfare Centre) near CEAT Tyre, Nahur. Rev. Fr. Jose Aloor was our Parish Priest from 14th Feb 2004. Rev. Fr. Franklin Joseph Pottananickal took charge on 06th June 2007. 13th December 2008 was a blessed day for our parish. On 13th December 2009, Mar Thomas Elavanal blessed the renovated chapel on 15th November 2009; Mar Thomas Elavanal inaugurated the motto of the parish: “Rooted in Christ and growing in Faith”. Our parish is progressing with its various activities. Fr. Tomy Nelliyani was our parish priest from 11th June 2011 to 6th January 2014. Fr. Jomet Vazhayil took charge on 6th Jan 2014 and during his tenure, we were blessed with the construction of our Parish Church. It was consecrated on 22nd November 2014. We remember with thankfulness the dedicated services of the Sisters of the Adoration convent. We put on record our sincere thanks to the Bright School Management for providing all the facilities for conducting our various functions, activities and the Sunday Qurbana. Fr. Shijo Parayil took charge as the parish priest from 09th February 2017.
