ARC, Panvel: The first meeting of the 11th Pastoral Council body, conducted at ARC, Panvel on 30th July,2016, re-instigated the importance of family. The meeting commenced by 2:30pm in the presence of Bishop Mar Thomas Elavanal, and other dignitaries. Council members from all over the diocese, with great zeal came all the way to the venue to start away with this great year of responsibility.
Since it was a journey of being together, for two years, the members together pledged the oath which reminded the responsibilities of each member. MSgr.Emmanuel Kadankavil, welcomed each one to the meeting and Fr. Justin Kallely introduced each member and explained on the structure, scope, function and procedure of the Council and their role as members. Mr. PKX Thomas, secretary of the 10th Pastoral council body, read the report of the last meeting. In the presidency speech, the Bishop stressed upon the importance of family and youth and gave guidelines to implement measures to improve the same. Further each Forane and ADMS presented their response to the suggestions, which came up in the last Eparchial Assembly. Then, Mrs. Mini Thomas was unanimously elected as the new secretary for the 11th Pastoral council body and Mr. PKX Thomas as the joint secretary. Other executive members selected were Joseph Puddushery, Joffy Anil and Fr. George Vattamattam. Another significant part was the Logo release of KMC (Kalyan Media Cell) by the Bishop, the objectives of which was presented by KMC director, Fr. Franklin Joseph.
