Our dream to have a Syro-Malabar community in Koperkhairne came true when it was approved by our then Bishop Mar Paul Chittilappally. We started gathering at C-38, Sagar Co-operative Society, Sector-10, Koperkhairne. The Mass was conducted on Sundays at 8.00 AM by Rev. Fr. Thomas Narikulam. This marked the birth of a new Centre “Infant Jesus Mass Centre” Koperkhairne.
The community then comprised of 35 families. Rev. Fr. Jose Aloor was appointed as the new Priest incharge. With an aim to have our own place of worship, the members started contributing their might and conducted fund raising programmes. Their whole hearted co-operation and good will brought us the present day – Infant Jesus Centre at B-37, Sagar Co-operative Housing Society at Sector-10, Koperkhairne. The faithful at that time were 35 families. The priests who served us are: Fr. Thomas Narikulam, Fr. Jose Aloor, Fr. Denson Nereparambil, Fr. Paul Olickal, Fr. Benny Ezhormattom, Fr. Siju Kizhakepallivathukal and Fr. Jinto Edattukunnel leads us to go ahead as true disciples. At present the community comprises of 120 families and five prayer units. In addition to every Sunday’s Mass, Masses are held on Wednesdays (with Novena of Mother Mary) & Fridays (with Novena of Infant Jesus).
At present Fr. Benny Thaninilkumthadathil is the Parish Priest.
