The catholic community at Vikhroli, just like any other Syro-Malabar catholic group, prior to the establishment of the Eparchy of Kalyan was unorganized and scattered. However, the service rendered by the Kerala Catholic Union is to be placed on record. They took initiative to conduct the Syro-Malabar liturgical services once in a month in the Latin Church.
Needless to mention, the erection of the Eparchy of Kalyan was surely a ‘magna carta’ in the catholic history of Mumbai. As soon as the Diocese came into existence Vikhroli was moulded into a parish with its 112 catholic families. Fr. Davis Casian Chittilappilly enjoys the unique destination of being the first Parish Priest to Vikhroli. In 1993 the parish could own a residence for the Parish Priest. In 1994 the parish could purchase a plot where the present church is located. The church was consecrated on 29-06-2000.
It was Fr. Paul Kaiprambadan who took initiative for the popular devotion to infant Jesus, but it became full-fledged at the time of Fr. Davis Chiramel who founded ‘Unnimisiha Sakhyam’ of which patronage first Tuesday feast of Infant Jesus is being celebrated now. The devotion to Infant Jesus attracts many people far and wide. The construction of a parish hall on the upstairs of the church was another milestone in the history of the parish. In 2007 during the time of Fr. Vincent Kanimangalathukaran, Infant Jesus’ Prayer Centre was officially declared as a parish. The present sanctuary is also the result of the renovation work done by Fr. Vincent.

Vincent Kanimangalathukaran, Fr. Wilson Kannanaikal and Fr. Shinto Vallantu.
At present Fr. Sibichan Kochuveetil is the Parish Priest.
