The Syro-Malabar catholics used to conduct Sunday Mass and other Sacraments in St. Lawrence Church at D’Souza Wadi till 1988 under Kerala Catholic Association. With the inauguration of the diocese of Kalyan, the Syro-Malabar community of Wagle Estate started functioning as a separate centre with Rev. Fr. Thomas Kalapura MST as the first parish priest. A plot of land was purchased from Ms Unit Arsen Developers and a structure was built. San Jos Centre was blessed and inaugurated on 18-10-1992 by Mar Chittilapilly. SABS sisters of Kothamangalam province started a convent to help in pastoral work in Wagle Estate.
After Rev. Fr. Thomas Kalapura, Fr. George Porathur, Fr. Paul Pulikoottil, Fr. Mathew Kuttikottayil, Fr. Kuriakose Kalaparambath, Fr. Simon Cheruvathur OFM Cap, Fr. Wilson Kannanaikal, Fr. Jijo Kallely OFM Cap and Fr. Jose Kokkapuzha served as the Parish Priest.
The centre was declared as a full-fledged parish of the Eparchy of Kalyan by Mar Thomas Elavanal in April 2006. Today there are more than 200 families enrolled in the parish. The parish is divided into 17 family units.
At present Fr. Bipin Chovattukunnel is the parish priest.
