We have been availing of the premises at of the premises at Anne’s Cathedral, Nashik Road for our religious services for over a decade. We purchased a plot and blessed the foundation stone for the church named St. Alphonsa Centre on 26th January, 2001 by Mar Thomas Elavanal and appointed Fr. Shibu Pulickal as the first Parish Priest. He mobilised several schemes for the fund raising and started the Alphonsa Nursery and Tuition centre near the proposed site. St. Alphonsa Centre was earmarked to be completed before December 2003 and consecrated in honor of St. Alphonsa on 24th January 2005.
As the successors of Rev. Fr. Shibu Pulikal, Rev. Fr. Mathew Moothasery served from June 2005 to May 2006 and Rev. Fr. Fransis Perumadan served from June 2006 onwards. In May 2009, Rev. Fr. Mathew Adampakallel took charge as Parish Priest and served up to 2012. During this period Rev. Fr. Francis John was appointed here a resident priest. Rev. Fr. Shiju Vattampurath was appointed Parish Priest of St. Alphonsa’ Church on 31st May, 2012. This community which is flourishing with the intercession of St. Alphonsa has 32 families in St. Alphonsa Church. The catechism students take active part in church activities. The youth, mathrusangham are the strong pillars of the church. Later Rev. Fr. George Thattamparambil SAC served as the parish priest.
The relentless effort of the sisters of SH convent in the Church and their training and guiding of catechism students, youth and mathrusangam deserve worth highlighting and appreciation. At present Fr. Davis Chalissery is the parish Priest and Fr. Franklin Cheruvathur took charge as the Pro-Parish priest from 09th February 2017.
