1984 onwards Malayalam Mass was conducted on certain Sundays in Our Lady of Purification Church, Uran by Rev. Fathers from Kalina. After the inception of the Diocese of Kalyan, Msgr. Thomas Thalachira visisted Uran Church in December 1988 and celebrated Holy Mass for members of 6 families of Syro-Malabar community.
In February 1989, Fr John Madukolil was appointed as the co-priest incharge to look after the spiritual needs of the faithful. From July 1989, he started staying at Panvel and could concentrate in the activities of the centre more actively till he was transferred to Chiplun in May 1995. Following priests served the centre after May 1995: Fr. Francis John, Fr. Jose Muthuplackal, Fr. George Muttathupadathu, Fr.Kurian Kunnumpuram, Fr. Philip Kulangara, Fr. Cyriac Kumbattu, Fr. Biju Chittilappilly, Fr. Jose Pacheveettil, Fr. Tony Thannikal and Fr. Tony Kakkassery. Bl. Alphonsa Trust was formed under the leadership of Fr. Francis John. During the tenure of Fr. Tony Thannikal a plot was purchased to build the church on 10-01-2010. Fr. Emmanuel Kadankavil took initiative for the construction of the church and the foundation stone was laid on 25-03-2012. The church was consecrated on the feast day of St. Alphonsa in 2012 by Mar Thomas Elavanal. We also acknowledge the service rendered by Rev. Fr. Shibu Pulickal as the parish priest. At present Rev. Fr. Lijo Velliyamkandathil is the parish priest.
