All those Syro-Malabar catholics migrated to Kalewadi in and around who had deep rooted faith and tradition depended the local Latin churches for fulfilling their spiritual needs. Later on Kerala Catholic Association was formed to coordinate their activities. In order to safeguard the tradition of Syro-Malabar church, the organization of St. Thomas Cathoiics of India was formed with Rev. Fr. Gabinius Petta CMI, as its patron. With the providence of God, two MST fathers were appointed to lead the Syro-Malabar community in the month of June 1984. Within a short time, with their missionary zeal and vision young and energetic priests viz. Fr. George Kavukattu and Fr. Lonappan Arangasserry could form communities deep rooted in catholic faith. The areas north of Pune such as Pimpri, Bhosari, Akhurdi, Dehuroad, Lonawala became active under the pastoral care of Fr. George Kavukattu based at Kalewadi. Similarly Khirki, Dighi, Vadagaonesary, Vanavadi were well organized by Fr. Lonappan Arangassery.
Declaration of Sr. Alphonsa as Blessed on 8th Feb. 1986, celebration of Holy Qurbana at a place of our own in October same year, construction of a community hall in 1987, erection of our diocese in 1988, consecration of existing church in 1994, declaration of sainthood to Bl. Alphonsa, erection of parish and elevation of the church to the status of a pilgrim centre and the Jubilee celebration in 2011 are all glorious moments in the history of Kalewadi parish. There are 280 families and many singles who are working for IT companies and its ancillaries. Faith formation classes with 225 students are managed by 14 teachers. Parish administration is efficiently managed by the parish priest with the help of trustees and supported by Parish Council members. Parish is grouped into small family units for better involvement of families in parish activities. The pius organizations such as Pithruvedi, Mathrusangham, Karunya Trust, Choir group, altarboys are very active in the parish.
At present Fr. Shaju Kottarathil is the parish priests and Fr. Francis Komban is the assistant parish priest. The parish priests who served us are: Fr. George Kavukattu, Fr Antony Kakkanattu, Fr Davis Pulikkottil, Fr. Justin Kallely and Fr. Benny Thanninilkumthadathil. Assistant parish priests who served us are: Fr. James Kochayankanal, Fr Johnson Kalathingal, Fr. Thomas Kumparampil, Fr. Johny Kattupara, Fr. Shibu Pulickal and Rev. Fr. Boby Mulackampally.
