Fr. Varghese Manavalan took initiative to form Syro-Malabar community in Bhivandi. First Holy Qurbana in our centre was offered by Mar Paul Chittilappilly and Fr. Varghese Manavalan in Dandekarwadi School and eight families were present there at that time. Thereafter it was decided that Holy Qurbana would be offered in the house of Mr. David P. every last Sunday. This continued for about 2 years. Later Holy Qurbana was conducted in Protestant church in Gokul Nagar for one year. Fr. Manavalan served the parish for 6 months and later Fr. Joseph Vattakkuzhy was appointed. Fr. Joseph Vattakkuzhy along with Mr. Mathew John and Ritamma bought flat for Church with the help of Bishop’s house. The new church was inaugurated on 17-12-1995, and consecrated by Mar Paul Chittilappilly. Parish Priests from Kalyan East & West were taking care of the pastoral needs of the faithful at Bhiwandi. At present Fr. Cyriac Kumbattu is our Parish Priest.
